Definition of terms in the Judgement Criteria

1. Memory

This is the ability to chant the specified portion as required by the panel of judges without any break, hesitation or confusion

2. Pronunciation

The ability to chant the verses in consonance with the International Chinmaya Geeta Chanting Competition Learning Aid.

3. Presentation

Posture, mannerism,sincerity of efforts etc.

4. Overall Effect

Refers to Devotional Bhava ( Bhava when translated in English can mean right attitude and feeling ) and the overall effect on the listener.


5. Tune is not a criteria for judgement

6. The Competitions held in the year 2008 on chapter ‘VIII’ are complete by itself. Therefore the Competition for 2009 on chapter ‘IX’ should begin from preliminary level.
