About myself... I am a Lecturer in Nanyang Polytechnic, School of Engineering (Manufacturing), Rapid Prototyping Center. I have always been interested in Biomedical Science and thought Biomedical Engineering would be an exciting area for me to explore. That's why I have chosen to take up this part-time MSc in Biomedical Engineering with Nanyang Technological University.
My view of medical imaging and visualization... Personally find imaging and visualization a very important aspect in Biomedical Engineering. Human eyes can only see a very narrow range (space, size, colour, frequency, etc), it is through the use of imaging technology that we "see" more things and hence, use this additional "sight" or information for further applications. Some of these applications include the exploration of protein and genetic structure (micro-level), visualization of body parts through minimum invasive devices and visualization of the universe (macro-level). |
