A
Children & Prisons Resource Kit for Primary/Junior and
Intermediate/Senior classrooms was
launched on November 20, 2006, National
Child Day, from
4:00 to 6:00 PM. in the Teacher Resource Centre at McArthur
College, Faculty of Education, Queen's University.
Funding of $1,455.00 to purchase resources was received
from the Kingston Community Foundation, Queen's Faculty of
Education, CVP-Kingston Inc., the Archdiocese of Kingston
and 4 individuals.
Speaker was the Rev. Canon Chris Carr, retired
Director-General Chaplaincy, Corrections Canada and
founding board member of CFCN.

The goal of the kit is to sensitize teachers and pupils to
the challenges that children of inmates encounter in
school, in the playground and in their daily lives.
