I have been asked by people, why I would want to put this kind of information on a web page. I usually reply, "why not?" to them. The reason that I have done this, is because of how hard it is to find some of this information, or reliable information as a beginner, and to share a little bit of what I learned with others in hopes that they can learn from my lessons. The other reason for doing this is that it can provide a place to ask questions for those whom don't have the luxury of a teacher and are struggling on their own to find their path.

Even though the "Burning Times" as they are sometimes called, are long since over, there are many of us that are still persecuted, and unfairly treated every day. This in the main is because there are too few of us that are willing to stand up and speak, and dispel the misconceptions surrounding our practices and beliefs. The main purpose of this is site is to provide a reference site to learn from, and to seek others of a similar interest, and to provide advice related to our beliefs.

What is hoped, is that this site, will become a meeting place, for all who practice and live by the Old Ways. Let us share our strengths, and unite in one voice that has to be heard. Together, we can put a stop to the injustices, and fear of being what we are. Too many of us fear what our parents, family, or even society will say or do, if they know we practice the Old Ways. We fear that we will have a harder life, and the harm that may come to us bred of ignorance of others. Sadly enough these are possible out comes...

However, these are out comes that can be prevented, by organizing, and standing as one. Our numbers are on the rise, and every day they soar higher. As of 2001 there were in excess of a million and a half of us that claimed Wicca, and more that claimed Pagan beliefs. That was 6 years ago. Every day we grow stronger, yet are weak, due to lack of unity among our numbers. There are many who would follow our ways, but have little or no guidance...or even do not know that this alternative exists. We do not publicly advertise our presence, and far too many are forced to turn to books, or leave our ways, because there is no one to guide them, and help them understand our ways.

All to often, when someone mentions "Witch" or "Pagan", we are thought of to be evil, or in league with the devil... or some poor misguided and rebellious soul. This is an unfortunate misunderstanding and misconception, but continues because too many of us are scared to stand up and dispel them. There are too few of us that are educated enough to make a stand, and challenge the popular beliefs, of what we are, and what we represent. This must change to provide a safe, secure future for future generations of Witches and Pagans alike.

To those of you that are proud to be Pagan and follow the Old Ways, sound off and be heard. Gather to you those of like mind in your communities, and teach our ways, and support them. Stand up and be seen. It is time to cast off the bonds of fear, and be heard. Only by showing that we are united and willing to stand up for ourselves, will we ever be free of the persecution that we face, and truly free to be who we are without fear or repercussions.

I hope to eventually set up a contact list for those of a like mind, so they may unite, and grow in strength and wisdom together, as well as resource lists. This will be a long time in coming, but I hope eventually to setup contact lists for the entire country. In order to do this though, we must sound off, and stand together, or all, as so many have before us fall into oblivion washed away by the fears and misunderstanding of others...
