BEYOND THE NAKED EYE

Do you sometimes see "things" in the corner of your eye? Or do you feel that somebody a thousand miles away is thinking of you at a precise moment? Chances are your third eye is open.

Mine is.

I am a clairvoyant, which in French means "someone who can see clearly".

Clairvoyance and having your third eye open are the same. However, it should be noted that the mysterious third eye is actually the term coined for the pineal gland found in our brain. Having an eyelike structure and weighing a little over 0.1 gram, the gland shrinks at the onset of puberty. Its actual function has not been explained by science thoroughly, except that it helps in the production of the hormone melatonin.

However, according to Frances Gloria, a member of the International Hypnotherapy Association and a renowned lecturer on higher consciousness, the pineal gland helps clairvoyants in "seeing" things that should have been left unseen. It acts like a detector of the different vibrations from both living and dead.

That is exactly what I can do. I can see images not known to any other person. I can feel the aura of the spirit world. And as if the two "capabilities" I have mentioned were not enough, I can also communicate with dead people.

Of course, I was not like this from the start. Although there are no hard and fast stages in being a clairvoyant, there are four levels that can be identified. I started with the first (some clairvoyants start with the second immediately), which is having a 'mental screen.'

When I was in grade school, I never had difficulty in acing my exams even if I rarely study. That is because of my mental screen that allows me to see what is written in my textbook, en toto. I only have to focus my eyes on something (mostly colored green, although I am not sure if the color is significant), and voila, the answers are there for me to copy.

This gradually diminished, though, when I entered high school. Ms. Gloria said that it was normal for me to lose my mental screen because my pineal gland has already shrunk.

It was time for me to go to the next stage, also known as 'coming to the light.' With or without the pineal gland, anybody can go through this stage. To come to the light would involve heavy meditation. It is like a cleansing process wherein you channel your inner energy to go outside your body and feel the astral energy fill you.

I usually meditate in my bed where I feel most comfortable. A session can last from 30 minutes to a maximum of 6 hours. It is very strenuous and I sometimes collapse in exhaustion.

The stage made me more attuned to my environment and prepared me for the next stage wherein I can now communicate with dead people. Of all my extrasensory experiences, the one that happened during this stage was what I remember the most.

It was last December 18,1998 when I was in fourth year high school. I recall that my friends and I were preparing for our Christmas party and I felt nauseated the whole day. Although this always happens when I feel "vibrations", the dizziness that day was extreme.

When the throbbing in my head began, the images also appeared one by one. I first saw a woman in a graduation toga carrying a diploma on one hand and a bloody knife on the other. Then she turned her head to face me but I could not make any distinctive mark in her feature.
