Vincent Kartheiser News

June 7, 2005

Vincent Kartheiser is in a play called Slag Heap in New York City. It was playing at the Cherry Lane Theatre.

This is from David Boreanaz's most recent interview with the WB. He talks briefly about Connor, and has led us to believe that Vincent Kartheiser (Connor, Angel's son) might be making more than one appearance in the upcoming fifth season.

The WB Interview
The WB: And what about Connor?

David: "Last we saw him, I basically gave him his family; the mother and father he always wanted. Angel is now making a natural progression away from his son, but that's not to say that he won't pop up. He still doesn't know who Angel is, so that makes it interesting."

Also, in another BBC interview/UK convention with David Boreanaz, David describes the story arc of Connor and him.

Angel in UK
"He added that we might well see Connor back. "They're playing with an episode where he comes back, he doesn't know who I am, which should be interesting." To massive cheers, he also confirmed that Buffy would be appearing on Angel during the next season."

I do not know if this constitutes as ground-breaking news. But for the movie, "Falling Off the Verge," Vincent plays a writer, and his name is Deeter, according to imdb.com.

Vincent Kartheiser (Connor) has been contracted for only one episode, though obviously, he could be back in the future should creative necessity strike.

Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia) will no longer be a series regular but will appear on a recurring basis. Sources are abuzz with conflicting reasons: The most plausible rumor is C.C. wants to spend more time with her newborn (don't forget, she's now been around longer than any other player in the Buffyverse, so it makes sense that she could use a break); far less likely (and so ridiculous it pains me to mention it) is the persistent rumor that producers didn't ask her back because she hasn't lost her baby weight. Either way, expect a scaled-back role for currently comatose Cordy.

Sad news - as of right now, there is no new information regarding Vincent Kartheiser coming back to Angel for another season. He is not in the cast info on the WB official page. But I hear that he will be returning for one or two guest appearances.

A gracious fan of Vincent Kartheiser has sent me Vincent's comments on the episodes, "A New World" and "Tomorrow" in Season 3.

"A New World"
Vincent Kartheiser: He comes back with the sole directive of murdering Angel and then Id say hes probably just going to go right back into the dimensional crack right back to his father right back to his hell dimension because thats all he knows. So, he drops in, actually chasing another beast and then murders this beast and is then kind of defeated by Angel when Angel spares his life. And he runs out into the LA day actually because Angel cant follow him. All the worst parts of our world kind of attack him all at once kind of give him the idea that this is a hell dimension too. He meets a young lady whos being kind of mugged and raped by these hoodlums and he discards them and she dies later by heroin overdose. So, all this together kind of gives Connor a really bitter tast as to what this dimension, this world, is all about and he says, theres a lot more humans but they all tend to be bad or evil.

"Tomorrow"
Vincent Kartheiser: Well, he thinks he gets his ultimate revenge - you know. Hes gotta be pretty alone to Connor after what he does because not only does he now not have family, hes kind of left completely alone and mentioned he doesnt understand. I guess he has Justine but you know I dont know how close out relationship will become. So, hes now all alone in this dimension.
