Events_Moderator: � OK, it's time to get started! Let's welcome Vincent Kartheiser to the chat! Hi Vincent, welcome to Lycos Live Events! How are you tonight?
Vincent_Kartheiser: I'm good! Thanks for asking!
mosh_babe: How do you choose what kind of work you do?
Vincent_Kartheiser: Several different ways. First, what is available, naturally. Second, I try to go away from things I've done to similar to the project, and thirdly the people that I'm working with. What are the people like and what's the character?
bug230: Is your brother Nate Kartheiser? I know him!
Vincent_Kartheiser: Yes!
totallypink: My favorite movie is All I Wanna Do. What's your favorite work of yours?
Vincent_Kartheiser: Ooh ... favorite ... I really like a film that hasn't come out yet, called The Unsaid. But of the films that have come out, I prefer Another Day in Paradise. the1dancer: � I understand that you are from Minnesota, and are very close to your family. Now that you are a regular on Angel will you be living in Los Angeles? If so, how do you feel about being so far from home?
Vincent_Kartheiser: Wow, so sad, so very, very sad. I will be living in LA and I will miss them every day.
tiffanyvance16: I was just wondering if it was difficult to start your acting career? I want to be an actress someday and I'm looking for some good advice. Vincent_Kartheiser: � It's difficult to keep my acting career, starting it was very hard also. But anything worth achieving or having will not come easy.
batchicky: How did you feel about the make-out scene in the Angel episode "A New World"?
Vincent_Kartheiser: OK, fine, they are always uncomfortable, because you don't really know the person. But she was a very nice girl, and it was quick and painless for her. rain_sprite: � Could you tell us about your experiences on the set of Angel? Any humorous tales to tell?
Vincent_Kartheiser: No, but fans of Tim Minear should know how coldly sarcastic and funny he is. Liable to cut you off mid-sentence and leave you laughing right before a scene where you have to sob! But our crew is like family, we're very close and everyone is very nice and warm and lighthearted, so I consider it always to be a pleasure when I'm onset with them. The truth! No lie!
red_rose4u_4ever: How old are you Vincent?
Vincent_Kartheiser: 23! Just turned 23 May 5th.
KimTheKitten: Are you single?
Vincent_Kartheiser: I'm not married, but I'm not available.
lizzy1988_1: Are you friends with Thora Birch from Alaska?
Vincent_Kartheiser: She's a very talented actress, and it's hard to keep in contact with everybody that you work with. But I think she's a very nice girl, at least when I saw her 7 years ago.
tiffanyvance16: Have you made any close friends from the cast of Angel, like anyone in particular?
Vincent_Kartheiser: Close friends, no, because I've only been working there 6 weeks. Close friends takes longer than that, but I can see that I will be friends with some of them.
angelrocks84: Would you consider being on a crossover with Buffy? And if yes, what would you like to see happen?
Vincent_Kartheiser: No, I wouldn't really have a problem with it, but it's not something that I have planned, or I know that I'd want to fit in that cast. I'm still trying to fit into this cast and establish myself in the world of Angel.
subland0: How much physical training did you have to learn before becoming Connor?
Vincent_Kartheiser: They didn't warn me of very much in advance of how much physical work I would have to do, so I did *none*. But the stunt team and coordinator are great and walked me through what I need to do and what would make me look the least girly.
Jocci: I notice in some interviews you make fun of your weight. I am a bit smaller than you, but still 5'6", and I was wondering if it was something that you were ever embarrassed about?
Vincent_Kartheiser: No, yes, no, yes, no, maybe, OK ... ;) No, I'm not embarrassed of it, I think everyone should eat. I'm normal, I eat. I think everybody should be what they are, if you're smaller or bigger than normal, that's OK. I just think it's funny that I'm beating up guys that weight twice as much as me.
Buffy_Summers: How do you like working with David Boreanaz?
Vincent_Kartheiser: He's very funny! Very funny, and he's a consummate professional. I think we have good energy together.
roryl123: Is there any female character on either Buffy or Angel that you think would be fun to have your character hook up with?
Vincent_Kartheiser: Are you trying to get me in trouble with my girlfriend?
eternal86: Belated Happy Birthday! I was wondering what's been happening to your new movie, Falling Off the Verge? When will it come out?
Vincent_Kartheiser: Hmmm ... once it's made it has a better chance. It's still finding finance.
Events_Moderator: Your character was a big secret until he was revealed a few episodes ago. How did the producers keep the news of your existence a secret from Angel fans?
Vincent_Kartheiser: I didn't even know when I auditioned, what I was auditioning for. Once I made it, they let me know and tied me in a closet and stapled my mouth shut. My agents were dealt with similarly, and have yet to be released from their holes! JUST KIDDING! :)
rain_sprite: Were the physical aspects of Connor's character tricky? (Such as the fights)
Vincent_Kartheiser: It's difficult to film such large fights. There are lots of camera angles and setups, and physically, it does take something from you. But ... that's why I get the big bucks! {laughs}
taarna59: Congrats on making the Connor role. So far you've been excellent in it! Is there an address of some type (e-mail or otherwise) that fans can write to you?
Vincent_Kartheiser: � Yeah, write to the show, write to Angel, the WB network.
totallypink: I know you're close to your family. Do you plan on having a family of your own someday?
Vincent_Kartheiser: Yes! If I can find a girl stupid enough to have me!

Vincent_Kartheiser: Hmm....hahahaha! Nice try there pal ... keep watching! speakeasy275: � How did you go about finding an agent when you first started acting?
Vincent_Kartheiser: Wow. Sent out pictures, did plays, went on open calls, tried to get casting directors talking about me. And worked really hard, but there's no sure way to success and no sure way to failure. There's many avenues to both.
secedt: Your performance was very convincing. You did a great job! What did you do to prepare for the emotional aspect of playing Conner?
Vincent_Kartheiser: Well, he is from Quortoth, where there are no real people or women or anything except for dark and woods and demons. So I shut of all the lights in my apartment, took off all of my clothing, and ran around the apartment chasing imaginary demons. I did some other things, too, but I'm not going to give away my secrets.
tina51079: Are you still going to make independent films?
Vincent_Kartheiser: Yes!
speakeasy275: I think my favorite movie of yours was Crime and Punishment In Suburbia. Have you ever read the novel it was based on?
Vincent_Kartheiser: Please, seven times before I turned 15. Dostoevesky must be turning over in his grave! The novel is beautiful, but I fear the film strays too far.
rain_sprite: -=grins=- What are your plans for the future?
Vincent_Kartheiser: I'm doing movies and TV and having babies and giving lots of things away and loving many, many people, and feeling many things, and asking others, and I'll probably die at some point and I hope I go to heaven! I dunno, what are yours? {laughs}
