Ok, now I'm sure that after traveling around JUJUbayBEE's website, and
looking at the backgrounds and graphics, you're probably wondering who that
good looking guy in all of the pictures is. Well that would be moi, Chester. I
am pretty tall for a Quarter Horse, standing 16hh (hands high). I'm mostly
a reddish chestnut color, but I have a large star in the middle of my forehead,
and a very thin stripe down my face. I and around 17 years old, and have lived
a pretty good life. I fell in love, with Ju, when I was 14, and I still love her
today. When I was younger I was a fantastic jumper! I could jump around
3'3" and I loved it. But like people, once I started getting older I jumped
smaller and smaller fences. For a while I wouldn't even jump at all. There was
a really scary plank that Ju asked me to jump but I was certain that it would
hurt me, so I didn't. Ju fell off, but got back on and asked me to jump it again,
I still wasn't too sure about it, and stopped again. Like the first time, Ju fell
off. After that, seeing what happened to Ju, I didn't want to jump at all for
fear that I would again hurt her. So I didn't jump anything for about 4
months. No matter who was on my back I wouldn't jump. Finally, Ju got my
confidence back up and I started jumping again, although I was very timid, and
I would peek down at all of the fences that I was asked to jump. Ju had faith
in me though, and kept riding me, and we jump up to 2'3" that summer. Now
you might think that isn't a very big jump, but like I said before, I'm getting
older, and can't jump as high. That September, Ju packed us up, and brought
me and some of my friends to Lake Placid, NY. It was a VERY long trailer
ride, but it was worth it. The show grounds were beautiful! (the two pictures
on the background of Ju jumping me over straight rails were from that Lake
Placid Show.) We did great considering that I was just a lesson horse
competing against $100,000 horses. Here is a list of ribbons we won:
4th-Open Pleasure
5th-Open Equitation
6th-Open Pleasure Stake
Sure we entered a lot more classes than that, but in the Novice division we
were in for 2 days there were around 28 other horses in the ring, so it was
some tough competition. Anyways, Ju was happy, and that made me happy. Ju
and I were a great team for 3 years, and 2 show seasons. Since I try so hard
to make Ju happy and proud of me, when she rides me I will do anything she
wants me to. With that added to the fact that I'm a really cute mover we were
almost unbeatable in the hunter classes we entered.
