You might not have a clue as to what this page represents - well, let me tell you.

Some of the lads, namely, John (Dom's brother), Claudio, Dario and my good self all went out to Antigua in March 2001 to join the boys on Cherry Ripe.

Here we give you a list of incriminating photographs and tales of our visit for the unsuspecting reader to peruse.

  • John - giving an indication of what lay ahead. (Stand well clear).

  • Ale (me) trying to put a brave face on it during the rough seas (notice the all weather gear).

  • After hearing of our day out, this was Dario's response when asked if he would like to join us on the boat.

  • Thankfully we were not looking for the Ibiza experience when we got Antigua. It's a completely chilled out place and despite the influx of tourists the place seems to have retained its colonial character. A remnant of these days are the roads which probably haven't been touched since Victorian times.

  • Every self respecting tourist has to see and be seen at Shirley Heights on Sunday afternoons - dancing to Reggae bands, swigging rum punch by the bucketload and eating outrageously expensive burgers 'til sun down.

  • If you think you can show the locals a dance step or two, then the weekend at Lashings is the place to be (but not on a Tuesday night where a meagre six people were propping up the bar - and four of them were us).

  • If you think you can take the locals on a pool then the Dogwatch at Jolly Beach is the place. For more information, email Claudio..

Finally I'd like to thank Domenic and Elizabeth McKay for having the patience to put up with all four of us, and a big thank you to Dom (jr.)  and  Malcolm for taking us sailing - an experience that we're all agreed -  would live with us forever !!
