Malcolm
Skipper/owner Malcolm is aged 51.
Taking 1 year sabbatical. Consultant Physician. Sailed yachts
30yrs and dinghies before. Owned Dragon Folkboat, Rival 34 for
17yrs and Rival 38 for 2yrs. Mostly sailing W Coast Scotland
more than 500miles /year. Also Voluntary 1Mate Ocean Youth Club
for 14yrs. Sailing around all UK waters with OYC. Have sailed to
Iceland and back and Lisbon to Canaries as mate on 48ft schooner
and skippered Rival 38 to Faeroes twice and round Ireland. RYA
YM with Instructor endorsement for 10yrs and commercial for
5yrs.
Daniel
Daniel aged 18 has done a large
amount of small yacht sailing, mainly coastal around East Coast
and channel. Most experience sailing a Trapper T28 and
previously a Pandora 22. Done dinghy sailing and some races also
sailed with OYT as a Volunteer Bosun. Competed in the Scottish
Islands Race and the Tall ships Race. Daniel Hopes to take his
Yacht master on return to the UK.

Dom
Dom is 22 and will be the 1st mate.
Been sailing since the age of 4 years and is now a commercially
endorsed yachtmaster. Working at the moment as an Analyst in
Scotland for a Multinational. Sailed and raced throughout the
World. Sailed as Mate for the OYT for the last 4 Years sailing
around European waters. Also sailed across the Pacific at the
age of 18 on a 72 ft Shipwright with OYT. Has also raced
throughout Europe on 60ft Admirals Cup Yacht taking part in
Cowes Week, Gotland Run ( Baltic), Cork Regattas and Scottish
National Championships. Races every week around the Island/ Cans
in hometown of Largs on the Scottish West Coast. Dom and Malcolm
have sailed together for the last 4 years sailing on two
different yachts owned by Malcolm. Sailing around Scotland
extensively, North to the Faeroe Islands and last summer South
around Ireland for the Guinness challenge Cup! Is a qualified
Yachtmaster SB & will be a y/m OS prior to departure.
Leading up to the departure developing the itinerary of
destinations to visit, passage planning, and devising the
routings along with Malcolm. Not to mention refitting the boat.
Will be on for the whole year and looks forward drinking lots of
Rum with friends at Christmas in the Caribbean!!
