On June 13th 1986 Jarnette Olsen and her husband, Dave Olsen welcomed into the world their bundles of joy. The first baby they named Ashley Fuller (Jarnie's maiden name) two minutes later the other baby was named Mary-Kate.
For a few months the twins had a very normal life with 3 years older big bro, Trent, when one day Jarnie was out shopping with a friend and they said they were taking their own baby along for an audition for a TV show. Jarnie came along as well and it came up she had twins. They said they need twins for shows sometimes so Jarnie gave them her phone number number, never really expecting them to call back. But to her surprise, they did and asked Jarnie if she would be interested in bringing the twins along for an audition, so she did. The girls didn't cry so they were offered to share the part of Michelle Tanner on the new sitcom 'Full House.' They were only six months old.
Shooting began when the twins were nine months old. For the first season baby Ashley would always cry when brought on scene so they mostly used Mary-Kate. The show also starred John Stamos, Bob Saget, David Coulier, Jodie Sweetin and Candance Cameron. the show was about a sports broadcaster struggling to bring up his 3 daughters after his wife tragically dies. So his friend and brother move in to help out. Early reviews were harsh. But lucky along came a second season and the show grew in popularity.
What really surprised everyone was how loved the character of Michelle was. Everybody loved seeing Mary-Kate or Ashley saying cute phrases such as; 'You got it, dude!' It was a shame the nation couldn't see them together. So in 1992, the girls made their first movie 'To Grandmother's House We Go.' It was a hit.
Although 'Full House' was cancelled in 1995. The two nine year olds did not disappear oh no this was just the beginning. Since then the girls have tunneled out; 3 more TV series, over 100 books, 2 series of straight to video flicks, 14 movies, a successful clothing and lifestyle range and even dolls!
Now 20, the girls have appeared at plenty of events and done photoshoots. Mary- Kate also has a non speaking role in Factory Girl, unfortunately she chose to be cut out the film at the last minute so she can only be seen in the very background of a party scene
