A frolic - By Skip Lively

There are many things, contained with in the annuals of the Cheney books, of which the reader is blissfully unaware. For those few who have come to know the truth, all bliss has fled. Life goes on and the books sellas fiction. Oh the delicious irony of the subconscious! Fixed under the subtext of such a benign genre lie hidden truths and fearsome revelations.

Things which few can even begin to comprehend, lurid and taunting

The names themselves are privy to this terribly truth. Only through a complex mathematical system could such a feat be discovered. Assigning the most simple of alphanumerical codes shows CHENEY to be 3.8.5.14.5.25. Multiplied together, these numbers produce 210,000. But the secrets go deeper! Dividing the product (210,000) by the first number produces the quantity 70,000. Dividing this by the next number gains 8,750. This repeating pattern leads to the final revolution: the number 1.

The symbolism is eerie in its extremity. Mankind, building upon itself, multiplying and reproducingcommanding more and more strength and power until it reaches its heightthe triumph is attained! And then, slowly at first, then building speed, the societies begin to dissolve and break down. Only One is left.

Then the question presents itselfwho, or what, is that One?
