The Meaning Of Names - By Lauren, aka Elven Princess Of The Sea

The Behring sisters: Linde, Tanzen, and Etta. "Bitter, "To dance," and "Happy."

Tanzen wanted the infant found on the steps of the orphanage to be named Sturm von Drang for "Storm and Stress" and Etta wanted "Thor," but Linde, the eldest, chose "Shiloh," meaning "Place of rest."

When he grew older, Shiloh became a place of safety and security for Cheney. Etta and Tanzen grew and aged happily as their hearts danced through times of hardship and pleasure. Linde let time pass with a burden weighing down heavily upon her heart, the fact that she had taken the gold found with baby Shiloh Irons. Many years later, the weight having gotten seemingly heavier, Shiloh returned to her and she confessed, lifting a great weight off her shoulders and her heart. Linde confessed and was forgiven. Finally, she laid to rest and was bitter no more.

In a way, each of these people lived up to their names, but Linde did not pass away bitter. She could be as her name described her, or change and give her name a better meaning. She chose the latter and became "Once bitter, now forgiven."

You are what you choose to be. Shiloh became a place of rest, Etta and Tanzen danced happily, and Linde chose not to be bitter and confess. She chose to be Linde "Once bitter, now forgiven." Always forgiven.
