Well, well, well...
What do we have here?
Hello and welcome!
The one many called Fred Astaire, came into the still learning world, on May 10th, 1899!  Before i continue though, don't you think we should be told what this soon to be great man is famous for?  His extrodinary dancing!  Ok, now, back to where we left off...  This young man had the stars shown in his eyes as early as the age of 5.  When he was younger, he did quite well in Vaudville and Broadway, doing many things with his Sister, Adele.  They had a duo going.  Only until she retired to marry, did he go to Hollywood, in 1932.  Once there he signed on with RKO.  As soon as, he got loaned to MGM to appear in Dancing Lady, before starting on Flying Down To Rio.  Here's where Ms. Ginger Rogers comes in!  In Flying Down To Rio, that my friend, is where the talented Fred Astaire first worked with the wonderful Ginger Rogers!  While he was busy with film, he was doing many radio and recording things.  They ended up doing a total of 9 pictures at RKO together.  He had many other talented partners as well, some including: Gene Kelly, Judy Garland, and June Allyson.  He temporarily retired from 1945-1947, while on retirement he opened up a chain of dance schools.  He came back, and did  Easter Parade in 1948.  Fred Astaire died on June 22nd 1987 of  pneumonia.
Virginia Katherine McMath was just a normal person, leading a normal life, blah de blah blah. HA! Ya right.  Miss Virginia was born with that name, but it changed in her life, to Ginger Rogers.  The world met her for the first time, on July 16th 1911.  Skipping to when she was 14, she was appearing in Vaudeville which continued until she was 17.  Going on to Broadway, made her want to pursue a career in films.  In 1934 she starred with Dick Powell in, Twenty Million Sweethearts.  But on to the events that you came to this page for!  In 1933 Ginger was paired with.... yep! you guessed it! the one and only Fred Astaire, in the movie Flying Down To Rio!  They totaled 9 films together, and we will all remember them!  After filming Oh Women! Oh Men!, in 1957, she didn't appear on the screen for another 7 years.  She appeared in Broadway, but in 1984 she retired and then published in 1991, and autobiography, titled "Ginger, My Story".  She passed away on April 25th of natural causes.
