Pearl Harbor, A Day In History (cont.)
Final Tally of Pearl Harbor
2,403 men and women were killed at Pearl Harbor and 1,178 wounded. Eighteen ships were destroyed or damaged and 200 airplanes were destroyed.  The Japanese had a loss of 29 air planes, and fewer than 100 casualties.  The death toll at Pearl Harbor was only a small percentage of the over 55,000,000 people killed in World War II, but it was still a large loss for all Americans.
