I'm a Reliability Engineer working in Bayan Lepas, Penang. I graduated from Tunku Abdul Rahman College, Kuala Lumpur, with a B.Sc majoring in Chemistry and Biology. I had my primary and secondary education at Sultan Yussuf School, Batu Gajah, Perak.
My hobbies include music, reading, photography. I keep fit by hiking and swimming. I also love travelling to new places of interest and to take a break from the hustle and bustle.
I own a Yamaha Electone HS-8 electronic organ. I have been playing the organ and piano for more than 20 years. I stopped my music classes when I was 18. However, I keep in touch by playing for the church. My favourite genres include jazz, classical and popular music.
In my free time I like to read magazines and self-help books. I subscribe to Shutterbug magazine and I also enjoy Practical Photography.
I started taking photography seriously in September 2003 with an SLR camera after many years using point-and-shoot cameras which gave very low success rates. Dad inspired me to take up photography. I have always admired my childhood photos dad took using his 120mm dual lens reflex camera. Read more on films and my equipment.
Penang is a nice place to live in as you can very easily escape from city life and be with nature. You can climb hills, go jungle trekking, and fishing by the sea shores. Read more on hiking in Penang.
My parents live in Menglembu, Perak. My dad, Christopher is a retired school teacher but has went back into teaching at Changkat Tin primary school on a contract basis. Dad has stopped contract teaching since 2006 and is taking a distance learning degree programme. Connie, my mom is a retired staff nurse. She got a job as a nurse at a Haemodialysis Centre but she decided to stop after one month. My brother, Bart is a lecturer at the School of Computer Sciences at Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang.
My family are Hakka (Doong Gon) Chinese from Gunung Hijau New Village, Pusing, where my grandparents owned a rubber plantation. I spent a good deal of my childhood days in Pusing. Today fruit trees, such as durian, starfruit, rambutan and jackfruit, have replaced the rubber trees.
My parents are parishioners of St. Joseph's Church, Batu Gajah, where we were baptised in 1990. In Penang, I go to the Church of the Risen Christ, Air Itam.
The love of my life, Chui Ying, is an engineer in Bayan Lepas, Penang. We got married on 12-Jun-2004 at St. Joseph's Chuch, Batu Gajah. We have a son, Gabriel born 22-Nov-2005.
