D E F I N I T I O N S
EXTERN
A student who has not completed their Master's academic requirements, including the 35 new patient consultations and the 350 follow-up consultations and the research component.
STUDENT INTERN
A student, who has completed their Master's academic requirements and has also attended to 35 new patients consultations and 350 follow-up consultations and is in the process of completing their Master's dissertation.
Interns are permitted to start the 72 hour Academic program of the Internship.
The number of hours required for this component for the year 2002 will be 40 hours with increasing hours on a yearly basis until 72 hours are attained.
INTERN
An individual who has completed academic requirements, including the Master's Dissertation, and has been awarded their Masters degree in Chiropractic: Technology qualification, by Technikon Natal.
This enables the indivudual to complete the "Work Experience Component" of the Intenship Program.
At the present moment with the delay in the through put of the research and the resultant student attainment of this phase, it has been decided that each student passing through the Kwazulu - Natal Regional Internship Programme for the next 1 to 2 years will be decided on individual merit as their portfolios are presented to the Kwazulu - Natal Regional Internship Committee.
