Regional Internship Program

The Kwazulu-Natal Regional Internship Committee, is voluntary committee meets on a monthly basis and manages and operates the Kwazulu-Natal Regional Internship Program.
It communicates with:
1. The Allied Health Professions Council, through the Chiropractic Professional Board in terms of the development of the Internship Program in the region, with regard to the legal and constitutional requirements.
2. The Chiropractic Association of South Africa in terms of the Professional needs that need to be addressed within the Internship.
3. The Natal Technikon in terms of the academic / educational standards that need to be maintained with the Internship.
The KZNRIC is, therefore, a body that constitutes membership from :
1. The Chiropractic Association of South Africa
2. The Technikon Natal (Departmental and student representatives)
3. Practitioners in the field.
From this body one member is elceted as the Chairperson, whose responsibility it is to communicate with the Chiropractic Professional Board and Allied Health Professions Council.
This committee has the responsibility for implementing and maintaining the Internship program (IP) with regards to formal academic interaction amongst the Chiropractic interns and the development of work experience (this includes community service and other patient related facilities offered through the IP).
The meetings held by the KZNRIC are open meetings and any student or practitioner may attend such meetings, provided that if active participation is sought in the meetings, the concerned party (ies) need to give input into the agenda for the respective meeting. Observation or non-participation for reasons of gaining knowledge about the programme and its functioning are encouraged.
