| WHAT WE EXPECT |
| We expect Charlie's Place participants to refrain from using drugs and/or alcohol. The use or possession of illegal drugs or alcohol or the improper use of prescription drugs will not be tolerated. |
| We expect Charlie's Place participants to refrain from smoking. The use or possession of tobacco products will not be tolerated and an attempt to quit on the part of any participants who currently use such products will be strongly encouraged and supported. |
| We expect appropriate and respectful behavior and language. This means no swearing, no fighting, no sexual innuendo, no teasing or use of nicknames not directly related to a child's actual name, no unsafe behaviors (running, pushing, mock fighting, etc.), no arguing with other participants or with staff, other program people or volunteers. This also means no rudeness, no threats (verbal or physical), no 'mouthing off', no disregarding of staff directives (or those from other program people and volunteers). Harassment and inappropriate physical contact will not be tolerated and shows of physical affection must be limited to hand holding. Lying will never be tolerated. |
| We expect Charlie's Place participants to sign in and out. Signing in when entering Charlie's Place and signing out when leaving for any reason other than participation in a program or activity sponsored by or associated with Charlie's Place is required. Once you have signed out for the day, you are not allowed to re-enter Charlie's Place until the following day (not even to use the bathroom or the phone). Please ask staff about exceptions (going to work, meeting parents, etc.) |
| We expect Charlie's Place participants to follow the rules and guidelines of all activities and programs sponsored by or associated with Charlie's Place. This includes Fit for Life, movie nights, computer use, playstation use, snack time, quiet time, health programs and others. |
| We expect cleanliness. Cleaning up after self is required, especially in the dining area and in the arts and crafts area. |
| We expect Charlie's Place participants to use equipment belonging to Charlie's Place respectfully and appropriately. This includes not vandalizing property belonging to Charlie's Place and making sure that game pieces and sports equipment are used properly and returned to their proper places when the game/event is finished. This also includes caring for and returning on time all materials borrowed from the Charlie's Place Library. |
| We expect Charlie's Place participants to refrain from illegal behaviors. Theft or the destruction of property or equipment will not be tolerated. The possession of dangerous objects (knives, guns, lighters) also will not be tolerated. |
| We expect the rules regarding suspension and/or expulsion, if this becomes necessary, to be followed. This includes not loitering in or near Charlie's Place following expulsion. |
