Interests and/or
Crap I Pretend to Like
I work as a sanitary engineer for the city of Midland. I get no respect from anybody, and have a double chin (just kidding!) Actually, I worked at Sears Midland from August 2001 to August 2004. My position was called "Commission Sales Footwear." I enjoyed working there, and actually transferred to the Sears in the Orlando Mall when I moved to FL to go to Full Sail this past August. I am now also working in shoes there.
I work in the Shoe Department. It's a fun job, and NO I don't have to pull an Al Bundy and put people's shoes on for them! I have been in shoes the whole time I have worked at Sears; originally wanting to work in the Men's Clothing Department. Sears has undergone some renovations and the shoe department became self-serve, which meant I no longer would get paid commission for my sales. I considered moving to Electronics or another commission-paid department, but management was willing to pay me what I averaged per hour to stay in shoes and help people find what they need, so that's what I did. Now my title is "Merchandise Customer Assist", and I basically keep shoes straightened and wait on customers that ask for help. I also keep the Bed & Bath, and Small Appliance departments straightened and stocked. Upon moving to FL, I kept the same title, but with different responsibilities. Basically I am still called a "Merchandise Customer Assist Associate," but mainly I unpack, put-away, straighten, and am otherwise the master of all the boxes of shoes in our stockroom. I would also like to add that the Orlando Sears' stockroom is AT LEAST 4 times the size of the one we had in Midland. That means my memorization of where everything goes is even more impressive.
I am entrusted with enough money to buy a third world country, (not really!) Generally, I wait on customers who need help. Sometimes, I help the cashiers out by ringing people up, helping them with returns, or taking Sears and Discover credit card payments. I try to answer any questions that customers may have about shoes, even if the question is where they can buy a boot that we don't have in stock. (What can I say, I'm a helpful guy!) I mainly put away incoming stock for the shoe department, and used to do the same for Midland's bed and bath, and small appliances sections. Another thing that I sometimes have to do is straighten and dust, but only if I am not busy. You can imagine that I try to keep busy!

(05/11/05): It came to my attention a few days ago that I had some text formatting issues with my site, so I decided to fix that and also make some other adjustments. Apparently, using quotations and apostrophes messes up when you use them in HTML, but luckily I had just learned in my last month of classes that in XML there is a special way of typing them. I tried that here on my site, and it worked like a charm. They must be using XML to store the text I type on this site. Who knows. Anyway, speaking of class, I am currently in my 9th month of classes at Full Sail. After this month, I only have 12 more too go! Yah! I am learning a lot of really interesting things here, and becoming a hell of a lot better at programming. Classes I have finshed since my last post are: Programming 1, Calulus/Trig., Linear Algebra, Programming 2, Physics, Data Structures, Ethics and Psychology, Historical Archetypes and Myths, Windows Programming, 3D Content Creation, DirectX, and Advanced Tools Programming.
(09/27/04): Well just this past Friday, I
finished my first month at Full Sail. It is pretty cool here. We have had 4
hurricanes in the past 5 weeks, but other than that, I like it here in FL. I
start my second month of classes on the 1st of October and am looking forward
to it. The classes I will be taking are Programming 1 (C++) and Calculus/Trig.
Everyone around here says how hard those classes are going to be, I can't wait
to see. I bet it is all scare tactics, and they are only hard if you are a
total slacker. I guess I'll see on Thursday. Well, I'm out for now, oh and by
the way, I beat that surfing game like a week after I got it. BAM BEOTCH!!! It
was fun though. Later.
(07/01/04): I just bought a new game recently
for my Xbox habit. I got it pre-owned from 'Game Crazy' a game store located as
part of just about all 'Hollywood Video' stores. I figured for 13 bucks, why
not?! Anyway it's called "Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer" and it's sucking
up a lot of my time lately. Ha-ha. Anyway, I know it has been out for awhile
but I have never played it. I just figured that since it got good reviews that
it would be a good game to own. I usually like extreme sports video games
anyway, so I wasn't worried. Just another game to add to the ever-growing
collection of Xbox games I have. I think I am up to 15 now. Well that's it for
today, gotta go surf!
(06-18-04): Well, as I write this entry, I am
officially a Northwood University graduate. Yep, I now have a Bachelor's of
Business Administration with a major in Management Information Systems. My
future plans are to go to Full Sail in Winter Park, FL and pursue a Bachelor's
of Science with a major in Game Design and Development. This second Bachelor's
will take 21 months to complete because the program is accelerated. I will be
going to school for like 40 hours a week for 21 months straight. The reason the
course-load is so intense is that Full Sail wants students like me to work on
the most current technology and have it still be the latest equipment when I
graduate and go out looking for employment. I am really looking forward to
going there, and ever since I went to a campus visit back in March, I have been
thinking about it every day!
(06-18-04): Wow, can you believe it? The Detroit
Pistons beat the Los Angeles Lakers in the Finals of the NBA Playoffs. 4 games
to 1, and actually, that one win by LA should have been a win for D-town but I
guess it's better off that the Pistons won three in a row at home, which had never been done since the 2-3-2 format! Another thing that had never been done was that LA had never been held to under 70 points in the shot clock era, which the pistons did accomplish during a 20 point lead blowout game. During that game, they held LA to 68 points at the end of the buzzer. Wow. That's all I can say, wow! Go DETRIOT!
I found it hard to believe that the Anaheim Mighty Ducks have made it to the finals of the 2003 NHL Playoffs. However, I am glad that they at least made it that far because they beat Detroit in the first round, and now we don't look so bad. Ha-ha! Anaheim's goalie did well but "Mar~Bro" was better! (That's Martin Brodure, for anyone besides Meister, he'll know what I'm talking about!) Oh and by the way, I did say before the series started that Anaheim would lose! Thank you, pay up!
I created this Personal Web Site for my
E-Commerce class with Mr. Anderson during spring term of my junior year at
NU. I even got an A on it! I had a lot of fun making it, and I hope
you all like it and sign my guest book with your comments. (The link is at the bottom of this page. hint, hint.)
I went to BPA Nationals Aug 30 to May 4 2003 and
had a great time! (as usual) This year I took 2nd in the Nation as
a C++ Programmer and 1st in the Nation in an event called "Global Marketing
Team" (my teammates were Richelle, Jamie, and Sarah.)
Well, it's winter-term finals week now and my NU years are coming to a close. One more term to go and then I am finished with Northwood. I am looking into going to school at a University in Florida called "Full Sail" upon graduating from here. Yeah, I am looking into getting a Bachelors of Science in Game Design and Development. They have an accelerated program and I could get it in 21 months! I will miss the time spent at Northwood University when I am done, but at least I will have my Bachelors of Business Administration with a dual-major in Management Information Systems / Management. In the meantime, I plan to keep working at Sears, as well as hanging out with my fraternity brothers and other friends. Got to make time to party too! Ha Ha.
Crazy C, (or C as he's known to most), has been known to hang out in Milford with the following characters: Dain Train, Big B Fleming, Heavy D Heger, Compton, Meister, Timmae, The Beer Baron, Yashbash, Panyard, Lefebvre, Petty, and various other locals.
He had been residing in Midland and going by the alias C sharp and/or C++. Most of his days were been spent with characters such as: Gordino Martino, Jahnzee, Jaybird, L-Dogg (you know it!), Tangeray Jungle, Gregger, Chel, Blaino, Dom, NateDogg, Wurm, other AKPsi, Wilder and Mary.
He has also been seen loitering with Tommy D, Darb Nella Deer, Suz, Juh-Stin, Big John, Cali Ryan, Barry, JayMack, Aaron L(what?), and others along the way.
If you see this "Crazy" character stand clear as the swarms welcome him to the party. Because as Cali Ryan put it: "A party ain't a party unless Crazy C is there!"
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
I really enjoy roller coasters, so obviously one
of my favorite vacation spots would have to be Cedar Point. With 16
Coasters, and me living in a neighboring state, it can't be beat! I go down there like once a year with all my bro's from Milford who I grew up with (In 2003 we went July 18-20), and we usually spend
like 2 nights down there. It's a lot of fun, especially when you find an abandoned golf cart at your campsite with the keys in it!!!
Camping in Oscoda, MI has got to be one of my
favorite pastimes. Beer, Bro's and a
Campfire while telling stories and going two-tracking in Meister's truck. Also, getting lost in the woods and finding baby formula, of all things. Total
craziness happens there, and actually I learned some historic facts about the
town this year in my Natural Science class. Some chemical was accidentally fed to a whole lot of Michigan's cows instead of a growth hormone. The cows
all had to all be decapitated and shoved into a mass grave which is in
Oscoda! Not to mention, there is also a Lumberjack Memorial close to where we camp. That part is pretty boring though.
I try to stay away from it for most of the
school year, but Xbox is just so fun. When I play it, I play it every
day! Richelle bought it for me for Xmas. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 sucked me in for a good couple months straight. I have managed not to get addicted to Halo yet (aside from that stint playing multiplayer co-op with Heger on New Years '04), but now I hear that Halo 2 is on
its way. Dave and I are going to have to get together for that one,
that's for sure! I subscribe to Xbox magazine and they send me a Demo
Disk with each issue. I got the demo of "Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus", which I have been dying to play. It is from the creators of Mortal Combat. If you haven't played it yet, you are in for a beating!! On top of that, I got a great deal on a game called "Aggressive Inline" and I was addicted to it for quite some time. You should definitely rent it, no matter what new generation console you have because it's for all three, (that means Xbox, PS2, and Game cube). The game that is in my Xbox all the time currently is "BmxXXX" and I have yet to beat it, but am getting close!
I also like little pink bunny rabbits and small
little chickens. They are so cute! I enjoy classical music and soft jazz. I pierced both of my nipples and have a chain running from one to the other. I am a huge Colorado Avalanche fan, and hate anyone whose name doesn't start with a 'C'.
(Actually this whole paragraph is the crap I made up just for laughs.)
