September is National Library Card Sign-up Month, and the Camden Free Public Library wants to remind you that "The Smartest Card is @ your library" - it's your library card.

"Your library card is your ticket to opportunity," says Theresa Gorman, Director of the Camden Free Public Library. "What other card in your wallet gives you free access to books, magazines, and movies and all sorts of other resources that can change your life - or just make it fun?"

The Library is open Monday-Thursday 9:00AM to 8:00PM and Fridays 9:00AM to 5:00PM

Observed since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month is a time when the ALA and libraries across the country remind parents that a library card is the most important school supply of all.

Immigration Workshops
Starting September 25, 2006 Rutgers University will be offering Free Immigration Workshops at the Camden Free Public Library. You can come in and ask questions you might have about which forms you should file, how does the processes works, what should I do in my case, Etc. The workshops will be held on:

Monday, Sept. 25th
Wednesday, Oct. 11th
Monday, Oct. 23rd
Wednesday, Nov. 1st
Wednesday, Nov. 15th

All sessions will be at the Main Library at 418 Federal Street from 4:00PM to 6:00PM. For more Information call (856) 225-6406 or (856) 225-6608. There will be interpreters in some occasions.

Charlas o Talleres de Imigracion
Comenzando el 25 de Septiembre del 2006 la Universidad de Rutgers estara llevando acabo una serie de chalras o talleres de imigracion. Usted podra hacer sus preguntas como; Que formulario debo llenar? Como trabaja el proceso y Que debo hacer en mi caso? Las charlas o talleres se llevaran acabo los siguientes fechas:

Lunes 25 de Sept.
Miercoles 11 de Oct.
Lunes 23 de Oct.
Miercoles 1ro de Nov.
Miercoles 15 de Nov.

Todas las sesiones seran llevadas acabo en la Biblioteca Principalen el 418 de la Calle Federal de 4:00PM a 6:00PM. Para mas informacion puede llamar a (856) 225-6406 o al (856) 225-6608. En algunas ocaciones habran interpretes disponibles.

Poetry Reading on Nov. 2nd
The Friends of 418 will be sponsoring an evening of poetry with Phil Terman and Alfred Encarnacion at the Main Branch on Thursday, Nov. 2nd from 6-8 p.m. Phil Terman is the author of two collections of poetry and teaches at Clarion University; Alfred Encarnacion has published in numerous literary journals and is a librarian at CFPL. Admission to the reading is free and refreshments will be served. Come out and meet the poets; all are welcome.
