Rabiah was only five years old when she lost her father.
Her mother was not able to support her children; therefore,
Soheila was taken to an orphanage. Six years later she was
dismissed from the orphanage based on the fact that her
brother was old enough to care for her.
Unfortunately, her brother was heavily addicted to heroine
and could not provide for her needs. She spent many nights on
the streets while waiting for her brother and his friends to
fall asleep so she could go home.
At this time,
CEWI Foundation social workers became aware
of her situation. She was immediately brought under CF
coverage and was able to live with her sister.
Although almost homeless, Soheila maintained a very high grade
point average in school and was an outstanding student.
Soheila is currently a senior at the University. She is
focused and determined to succeed. Her quest for success
raises admiration.
Many thanks to her sponsors for making this success story
happen.
Madjid lost his father 10 years ago. He lives
with his mother who cleans houses to make a living for Madjid
and his twin brother. Before meeting CEWI Foundation social
workers, he had to work in a shop to help his family.
In a letter to his sponsor in U.S.A., Madjid wrote: "Life
is being kind to each other and helping one another. My
motivation to go forward in the midst of my difficult days is
in the hope of seeing better days in the future and becoming
useful in my community".
Kobra is 16 and lives with her 60-year-old
mother and 5 sisters and brothers. When CEWI Foundation
social worker met her she was depressed and looked pale and
unhappy. It was important that she receive help immediately.
She needed motivation and encouragement to bring peace back
to her life. Kobra is a good student and a great writer.
Receiving help created hope and warmth in her life. In
September 2000, she was admitted to university. |
