Article vii. Officers and Their Duties - continued

Section 5. The Recording Secretary shall attend all regular meetings of the Local Union, call the roll of officers and keep a full and permanate record of proceedings of said meetings.  If the recording Secretary fails to attend  a meeting, the Recording Secretary must deliver or have delivered to the meeting, the books and other necessary records for the transaction of business.

Section 6. It shall be the duty of the Chief Steward to allow no person to enter the room who is not a member in good standing.  The Chief Steward shall not admit any member under the influance of alcohol.

Section 7. It shall be the duty of the Deputy Chief Steward to perform such duties as the Local Union may require.

Section 8. It shall be the duty of the trustees to keep watch over all monies and property of this Local Union.

They shall approve the Secretary-Treasurers report each month.  The Trustees serving during the preceeding year and the newly elected Trustees shall compile or cause to be made, as soon as possible after January 1of each year, an annual audit for the year ending December 31.  This audit shall be on forms provided by the National Secretary-Treasurer and shall be submitted on a date as determined by the National Office.

Section 9. It shall be the duty of the Joint Health and Safety Committee Chairperson to oversee all aspects of Health and Safety for the Union.  The position shall have the authority to apoint area Health and Safety Representatives.  Joint Health and Safety Chairperson is separate from, and not included in the Executive Board. JH&SCC will be nominated and stand for election as proscibed by the Exectutive Board.

Article viii.  Executive Board

Section 1. The Executive Board shall be composed of President, Vice-President. Secretary Treasurer, Recording Secretary, Chief Steward, and Deputy Chief Steward.

Section 2. The Executive Board shall consider all items of interest to the Local Union not specifically provided for elsewhere.  They shall function as an executive committee and make recommendations for the good of the Local, their action being subject to approval by the membership.

Section 3. The Executive Board shall meet at least once a month prior to the regular monthly meeting.

Section 4. The majority decision of the Board shall be regarded as unanimous in reporting to the Local Union membership, and differences occuring in the Board shall not be discussed outside of their meetings.

Section 5. The Executive Board shall have the authority to act for the local Union membership before meetings.

Section 6. The President shall serve as chair-person of the Executive Board. 

Section 7. The Executive board shall have authority to incur expenses in behalf of the Local Union up to the sum of $500.00 per month.  All such expenses shall be reported at the next regular meeting

Article ix.  Expenditures

Section 1. No Officer of this Local Union shall have the power to incur indebtedness on its behalf or appropriate any money without authority from this Constitution and By-laws or from the Local Union.

Section 2. When a member of the Local Union is required to lose time from their regular employment for the purpose of representing the Local Union they shall be compensated for each hour lost at their regular hourly rate.

Section 3. When a member is required to perform service away from home, they shall be allowed in addition to their salery set forth above, an amount covering transportation by the most direct route to and from their home and per diem expense of $75.00 plus resonable hotel accomodation.
