| Article vi. - Elections ...continued Section 5. Newly elected officers will be installed and assume their duties at the first regular meeting in November. Section 6. The Local Union Executive Board shall recommend to the membership a method to be used for filling vacancies in elective positions occasioned by resignation, suspension, expulsion or any other cause. Article vii. Officers and Their Duties Section 1. The elective officers of this Local Union shall be: President, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer, Recording Secretary, Chief Steward, Deputy Chief Steward and three (3) Trustees. Section 2. The President shall be responsible for the supervision of all activities of the Local Union and shall enforce compliance with the National Constitution and the Policies and Programs of the National Union. The President shall interpret the Local Union Constitution and By-Laws and Local Union mandates, (subject to approval of the membership) and enforce compliance therewith. The President shall preside at all meetings and maintain order. The President shall be entitled to vote on questions of membership and other matters voted on by secret ballot; but as chair-person of the meeting the President may only cast the deciding vote on other matters. The President shall be Chair-person of the Executive Board and ex-officio member of all Local Union Committees. Section 3. The Vice-President shall preside at all meetings in absence of the President. If the Vice President is absent , the meeting shall select a Chair-Person Pro Term, the Secratary Treasurer shall call the meeting to order. Section 4. The Secretary-Treasurer shall have charge of the Official Seal and shall be responsible for handling all finances, reports and correspondence relating thereto. The Secretary-Treasurer shall establish an approved accounting record keeping system for both finances and Local Union membership roles. The Secretary-Treasurer shall be responsible for keeping the Local Union in compliance with the National Constitution, in order that the Local Union may be eligible for Strike Fund benefits, and currently in good standing by sumitting each month a report of business transacted by the Local Union to the National Secretary-Treasurer. The Secretary-Treasurer shall forward to the National Secretary-Treasurer the formulated dues as perscribed by the national Convention, and to the affialiated councils the per-capita tax due without the necessity of a vote by the Local Union. The Secretary-Treasurer shall make a report at each regular meeting of all monies received and expended and report on all official correspondence. The Secretary Treasurer shall deposite all money in the bank or depository as directed by the Local Union. Upon approval by the membership, the Secretary-Treasuer shall pay all the bills and claims by cheque in the order in which they have been allowed. The Secreatry-Treasurer shall make available to the Local Union Trustees and the National Staff, upon demand, the books and records of the Local Union for the purpose of audit. The Secretary-Treasurer shall cause any necessary governmental reports to be filed. The Secretary-Treasurer shall be a member of the Local Union Executive Board, and either the Secretary-Treasurer, or the Recording Secretary shall be the Secretary to the Executive Board and shall read to the Local Union membership the Board Minutes and submit Board recomendations for membership approval.
