1. Who are we

The Volunteer Center of Guarujá-VCG is an civil society organization, which express citizenship at its most, funded in April 4th 2001, to stimulate volunteer work on behalph of our community.
It was awarded the certificate of (OSCIP) in July30th2004.
There is no political or religious link related with the volunteer work realized at VGC.
The creation of VGC was seeded in August 8th 2000 as the resulting work of Society of Friends of Pernambuco Beach with support of Social Fund of the local Mayor.

2. Mission

Is the mission of Volunteer Center of Guaruja
To stimulate the volunteer culture, incentivating the citizens participation in activities directed to the community life quality improvement.

3. Objectives

• To promote the culture and reconnaissance of volunteer work;

• To offer training and capacity to the volunteer worker;

• To promote reciprocity between companies and volunteer organizations;

• To stimulate volunteer work in most areas;

• To became a model to new volunteer centers in Sao Paulo.

4. Concepts

"Volunteer is that one , motivated by solidarity responsibility give his time work and talent to perform actions on benefit of other persons and improvement to everybody’s life".

5. Areas Where to Act

• Health: cares and education for health, vaccination and other campaigns,

• Education: literacy, informal education,recreation,enforcement education,etc,

• Social Assistance: children, teenagers, eldery, poor people, disabled people,

• Ecology: environment maintenance, environmental education, fauna preservation, beach care, selective trash collection.

• Citizenship: defend your right, crime combat, publyc security, neighborhood improvement, comunitary action, popular participation, etc.

VOLUNTEER IS AN EXPERIMENT OPEN TO EVERYBODY

6. Volunteer Actions

The number of options for a volunteer action is so wide varied as the volunteer’s ingenuity and community needs. – To organize, to valuate, to divulge to make stronger all is being done is main objective of GVC. What only will be achieved with the participation of all the social actors: volunteers, programs and governmental projects and non governmental social organizations (NGO’s).- Is fundamental that everyone has conciousness and pryde on what is doing to do even more and better. And assume consciously that no one action form is better or more important than other, and all have the same objective: To fight indifference, hopelessness and social exclusion.

7. Projects of Guarujá Volunteer Center

• Enchanting Historytellers: Objectives:to develop playful activities for sick children and thei companion , inmate at Saint Amaro Hospital pediatric area;

• Volunteer Capacity - Objectives: to train volunteers to act in NOG’s;

• Training and preparation for NGO’s - Objectives: to provide NGO’s general information on how to manage the work of volunteer groups;

• NOG’s evaluation - Objective: to evaluate every partner organization of GVC, with criteria to mesure the effectivity of its administrative organization, to beter use of the volunteer task force;

• Selective Trash Colecting - Objectives: To stimulate domestic trash separation, turning easiest the task for the picking people;

• NOG’s administrative strenchening - Objectives: to provide administrative consulting with administration trainees to make the diagnosis and to produce administrative planning for organizational and institutional improuvement;

• YOUNG VOLUNTEER - Objective: to stimulate the young volunteer participation in communitarian actions;

• VOLUNTEER INSTITUTION - Objective: To incentive and accredit the action of institutions dedicated to welfare of community;

• VOLUNTEER ACTION - Objective: To stimulate the volunteer attitude of professionals of all areas in communitarian attendance in their own working place;

• NOG’s MANAGEMENT COURSE - Objective: To provide the opportunity of studying and reflecting on the contribution of THE THIRD SECTOR for development of community. Target people: social entrepreneurs, directors of Non Governmental Organizations,Private Iniciative, students and perdons with interest on Third Sector.
