Micah 6 Food Pantry
In conjunction with the Thursday evening meal is distribution of food from the Capitol Area Food Bank (CAFB) to those who qualify. Volunteers leave UBC no later than 2:00 PM to pick up food at CAFB and return to unload the food and stock the shelves of the food pantry. Stocking occurs approximately 3:30-4:30. Shopping begins at 5:30 and ends at 6:30 PM. The Food Pantry is also open on Saturday from 10:30am to 11:30am.

Crop Walk [official site]
UBC participates in a Church World Service sponsored annual fund raising event for world hunger. Walkers solicit support from church members who pledge an amount for each mile walked (or simply make a donation for this cause), and church members walk together as a group on the given Sunday.

Food for the Homeless
The children's department periodically prepares lunches of nonperishable foods such as granola bars, applesauce cups, cookies and crackers, for the children to hand out to the people at street corners who are asking for food.

Lifeworks Program
Our church provides the facilities for food preparation for a weekly meal for the homeless youth around our church. Though the food is brought in and prepared by Project Phase, all volunteers are welcome to help in this Tuesday afternoon program.
