+    k.d. lang is boycotted in Nebraska for her anti-meat beliefs.
+    The lead singer of heavy metal band GWAR is arrested on charges of "disseminating obscenity."
+    MTV refuses to play Madonna's video for "Justify My Love" because it contains scenes of sadomasochism, homosexuality, cross-dressing, and group sex.

+    Wal-Mart & K-Mart refuse to stock Nirvana's album "In Utero" because they object the cover art and one of the song titles. After it becomes the #1 album, the title of "Rape Me" is changed to "Waif Me," and the album is allowed to be sold.

+    Rap & hip hop are targetted by TV channels.
+   Marilyn Manson is arrested in Florida for violating the "Adult Entertainment Code."
1995
+    "They Don't Care About Us" by Michael Jackson is claimed to be anti-Semitic by protesters, so the lyrics are changed.
1996
+    A young boy claims that "Altar of Sacrifice" by Slayer encouraged he and 2 others to murder a 15-year-old girl.
1997
+    A boy in TX  is arrested in a grocery store for wearing a Marilyn Manson t-shirt.
+   2 Marilyn Manson concerts are cancelled because of what they promote.
+   Insane Clown Posse's "The Great Milenko" is banned and the group is dropped from their record label.
+    Students in Fayetteville, NC are suspended for protesting a ban on rock and rap t-shirts.
1998
+   A student in Michigan is suspended for wearing a t-shirt displaying the KoRn logo.
+   A conference in TX advocates the forced hospitalization of a Marilyn Manson fan, also classifying "goth rock" fans as street gangs.
+   U.S. Senators Joseph Lieberman and Sam Nunn target rap music in campaigns
+    A student in RI is suspended for wearing a shirt inscribed with a "devilish" message, the numbers "666," and a picture of Rob Zombie.

+   Police call for the cancellation of a concert featuring Rage Against the Machine, the Beastie Boys, and Bad Religion after learning it was a fundraiser for death-row inmate Mumia Abu-Jamal.
+   Students in WI are required to show ID before viewing "Rolling Stone" magazine in the school library.
