I am a retired disabled veteran, with over ten years in the Army. I became disabled when it was discovered just months before I was to get out of the service, that I had cancer. As soon as this was discovered Uncle Sam put a hold on me getting out until they could retire me.
I came back here to Louisiana really with the knowledge that I wouldn't be living here long. So I got busy and had a home built for my wife to raise our three children in and set things up for her.
Well it's been twenty three years and I'm not gone yet!! I owe it all to the healing power of my God and give Him all the glory for it.
After I got to feeling better I thought I could go back to work and earn some extra money, so I went to work for the civil service. Doctors do not tell you all the after effects that Chemo therapy does to you, one of them being it deteriorates your bones and does nerve damage. After I had worked about eight years I started experiencing more problems and had to retire again this time for good.
So now I stay home and relax, pester my wife at times and play with my grandchildren. I like to hunt and during hunting season here, you'll find me most any day in one of my deer stands enjoying myself.
