Our Reasoning |
Well, let's both admit it: We took our
favorite Python and think he's the Dave of the group. That's the
good thing about the Kids; they had one clear-cut best looking
actor. But anyway, I do have a reason for my selection. Besides the
obvious sexual nature of the Scott/Graham connection, Scott is also,
arguably, the only handsome Kid, while Graham has the same role in
the Pythons. Mark and John are both very tall with a great tendency
to do physical comedy, though for my money Mark seems to have more
of a controlled, nice guy temper, which I can't exactly say for
John. The Bellini/Gilliam is obvious, right? Jones and McDonald are
the same in my eyes -- very talented people, but let's be honest,
probably the most unattractive members of their respective groups.
Now, here's the disagreement: I would associate Dave with Eric
because, simply, dark humor. Both are masters of looking innocent
while their character hides a dark, sometimes slightly disturbing
secret. Whereas, if I recall, Michael was always just innocent. As
for Bruce and Michael, both tended to play the straight man quite a
bit, Michael often to John and Bruce often to Mark.

I agree
with you on the Graham/Scott correlation, not just for their orientation, but for their tendency to play either gruff authority
figures or... well, swans. Mark isn't as talented a physical
comedian as John, but they are of a similar physical type and the women that they
play are very much alike -- attractive, but just a little on the scary
side. Bruce and Eric are both the
songsters of their respective groups, so that lumps them together in
my mind. Who can forget "Not the Noel Coward Song" or "These are the
Daves I Know"? I equate Dave with Michael
because they're both play the "nice guy" role so often,
and I'm completely oblivious to any darker overtones in any of their
stuff. (Which says more about me, really.)
Kevin and Terry J. both play the homely women and seem like very
nice people, but they like showing off their bodies a bit too much
for good taste. ::shudder::
