.
I like to paint, even though I'm not very good at it. My favorite technique is a combination of watercolor and crayon or prismacolor, although I've done some with acrylics as well. These paintings are all shown at much smaller than their actual size, so some detail is lost.

[Adrianne and Allanon--acrylic]
Adrianne and Allanon (1988)
The Druids were "renaissance men," their long lives giving them the leisure to master a variety of arts and sciences. After the Second War of the Races, when it became clear that some who remained on the side of the Warlock Lord were attempting to track down and kill the remaining Druids, the survivors went into hiding, particularly in the Westland. This picture does not do justice to Adrianne (Andrea's mother), who was considered in her youth (as depicted here) one of the loveliest women in the Westland. .

. This painting shows Andrea hiding while Shea talks to Allanon at the end of The Sword of Shannara. This is the moment of juncture, the moment at which the Alternate Shannara Universe comes into being. [Juncture--acrylic]

[Waking--acrylic]
Waking (1988)
After her first initiation into the Druid Sleep, Andrea woke at the Keep, uncertain of what was to happen next. When her father spoke of returning to Shady Vale, she feared that he meant to leave her there again. This view looking north across the forest surrounding Paranor is what she saw from her window as she pondered the change of her circumstances. .
