Andrea's great-great-granddaughter, Beatrice Tambrel, was sent by her grandmother, Haley (Jessica's daughter), to study at Paranor. Beatrice, more commonly known as Tris, kept a record of her journey from her home in Beryllia to the Druids' Keep in the Four Lands. These pictures are landscapes of what she saw.

[Parian Head--watercolor and prismacolor]
Parian Head (1994)
Beryllia--the original home of the ancestors of the human men who became Druids--is a part of the Northern Kingdoms, a collection of small monarchies on the northwest coast, and technically outside the Four Lands. Prince Andrew of Beryllia fell in love with Jessica (Andrea's daughter) and became a Druid against Andrea's better judgement. She was convinced that, faced with the demands of being a Druid, it would be impossible for him retain his throne. Not only did Andrew and Jessica manage to do so, but they passed on the kingdom to their son when he was of age to rule, and retired to the lighthouse fortress at Parian Head. .

. This is a view of sunset over the Westland forests from the Streleheim Plains. The painting technique is using watercolors to rough out general areas of color, then later details are drawn in with prismacolor pencils. [Looking West--watercolor and prismacolor]

[Castle Paranor--watercolor and crayons]
Castle Paranor (1987)
This is first color illustration I ever made of Shannara, and depicts a view of the valley of Paranor seen from the northern edge of the forest. The original picture is wider, but the upper left corner was damaged by a combination of cats and children. .
