| Tuesday January 14th 2003 Mindless trivia facts often amuse me. I like lists and being able to rattle them off at will. Well, one in particular anyway. I like keeping track of the biggest domestic box office hits of all time. It's almost like cheering on your favourite hockey teams and looking at their all time stats, except it's movies instead. Pretty geeky. I bought a fantastic book a few years ago listing the top five money makers for each year, from 1939 to 1995. Since then I've visited Yahoo! Movies each year to add the list of movies for subsequent years. Pretty cool eh?!? I knew you'd be excited. Now, where was I before my computer crashed and I lost two paragraphs? Ah yes ... had the guys over last night for another Mortal Kombat session. JP's getting pretty sharp with Mavado, and GB has the hang of Kenshi, but I'm trying to stay versatile. This game is definitely growing on me. I like the unlockables idea, where you earn points to open up new game functionality. I suppose if you don't, there's some fellow on the Internet or a magazine all set to help you out with the latest in cheat code technology. Haven't entirely gotten the hang of my new cordless phone I got from my sister for Christmas. I still hang up on people by accident now and then when I'm trying to answer it, and there's still a lot of static sometimes despite the nifty channels feature. Sooner or later I'll give up and read the manual. Today seems like a good day for a haircut; I've procrastinated / forgotten long enough for this month. Then I have to tackle a substantial amount of story editing for my critique group's meeting this Thursday. One of them submitted a 40 pager, which is a ton of work. I have absolutely no right to complain however, since this happens to be the woman who edits my 40 pager book chapters. Ahem. Sooner or later I'll get back to doing some serious writing. Maybe this weekend, we'll see. It's still sitting there where I left it, after getting two or three more pages looked at last December before the holidays. LA claims I'm a procrastinator in general, and whereas I might argue with her on specific subjects, in this area I have to plead guilty. This and French class homework. Who wants to do homework when you're 29 and employed full-time? Bleah. |
