Procedure for the data retrival during L to XL Integration

Conversion of MAX-L exchange to MAX-XL without Meter change
Here is a procedure for the data ret rival during MAX-L to MAX-XL integration. The same ‘ed’ and ‘bd’ of the MAX-L exchange can be used for the MAX-XL exchange with the following procedure in the 2_2_1_4 or 2_2_1_6 platform.
1. Take ‘ED’ backup from MAX-L IOP with the volume name ‘edold’.
2. Bring the standby IOP to warm start level. Let it be IOP-1.
3. Load the complete software in the IOP-1 , Unix 11.4, BASE, Patch, and BMDC XL of the available s/w version in your exchange.(2_2_1_4 or 2_2_1_6). Shutdown and reboot to the warm start level.
4. Equip all the BMs existing in the MAX-L , in the IOP-1 using MAX-XL configuration by command ‘equip-mod’ with the parameter option version=2, in the growth mode.
5. In the IOP-1, the XL related file are to be stored separately. Make a new directory /u/admn/xl. Copy the following files to this directory.

• $PRCDATAP/iocver.bin
• $PRCDATAP/iotmsg*
• $PRCDATAP/iotind*
• $GLBDATAP/ansprm*
• $PRCDATAP/apclk.bin
6. Copy in the ‘edold’ taken in step1, in to IOP-1.
7. Now copy the files stored in the xl directory back to the respective directories.
8. Verify the important system parameters in the IOP-1 with that of IOP-0 and modify accordingly in IOP-1 (if any)
9. Verify the version of the BMs equipped in the IOP-1 , using the command ‘displ-mod-info’, which should be ‘2’.
10. Now create the data related to new BMs if any.
11. Take a ‘ED’ back up in the IOP-1 and this is the latest ED for XL configuration.
12. Now this IOP-1 is de linked from CM-L and connected to the XL CM. Remove the HDLC3 cable at IOP-1 (IOP-0 to IOP-1 cable)
13. Down load and test the CM-XL for all its functions.
14. Keeping a spare BM , test all the data cable and clock cable and equipped BM locations.
15. Complete the testing of CM-XL using IOP-1.
16. At the time of integration , format the billing counters at IOP-0 and take ‘BD’ back up and copy in the same to IOP-1.
17. Now the BMs working in the CM-L can be brought to CM-XL one by one, by changing the Data and Clock cable of the BMs. Give a code load to the BMs while transferring to CM-Xl.
18. After all the BMs are transferred to the IOP-1 , allow the Exchange to function for a day and the load the new software to the IOP-0 and load ed and bd.
19. Insert the HDLC3 cable at IOP-1.
20. Synchronize the IOPs.
