A Night Before Travel

6:50PM PST
At Home In Scripps Ranch

(Note:  I'm trying out a new font as you can hopefully see!   Comic San MS is a great font which I encourage you all to download,  if you don't have it already.   It's a fairly common font so it should be easy to find)

It has been a few days since I've updated the journal.   I just felt I was getting into a rut with the same stories,  and my creativity had been at a low.   So,  I thought it would be best to concentrate my efforts in other areas,  rather than dwell in the rut I was in.   So,  I concentrated on my poetry pages these past few days,  tweaking and tweaking until I felt much of the pages were absolutely perfect in design and spacing  (I'm really a pet-peever when it comes to those types of details).   But now I feel so much better for really cleaning up my poetry pages.   I'm now the proud owner of a GeoPlus account in the Geocities Communities,  so I am gradually dispensing with all the banner ads on each of my pages.   I wasn't able to get all the banner ads removed from all the poetry pages,  but I feel I finished more than half.   Now the pages look more like I imagined them to be without all the banner ads and miscellaneous buttons.   It's mostly just the poems along with a photo to match,  a clean and minimalist style that to me is pleasing to the eyes.

I was on vacation to rest and relax,  and overall I accomplished this.   I did get bit by the cleaning bug,  and because of this I probably developed a bit of a cold from trying to do a lot in such a brief time.   I think I was able to practice  (maybe a bit too hard) and get some things accomplished,  even though the cold put a bit of a damper on things.   But now I'm at the point where I'm ready to get back to work and interact with a group of musicians on stage.

Today I was able to get a smog check for my minivan.   It had past 210,000 miles on the odometer,  and I was worried that the vehicle would NOT pass.   There was a bit of a wait...    three people were ahead of me and the particular smog station I went to had only one machine working today.    The first guy's car FAILED!   He was rather freaked out about it and wouldn't accept it....    and he required a long explanation as to why his car didn't pass.    The next two people,   a woman and then another man,   both had their vehicles pass inspection.    It was getting to point where I was rather nervous...   the pressure was on whether my vehicle would pass smog inspection or not.    IT DID!   Thanks God...

I was able to pick up my glasses today and now I have something in case I don't feel like wearing my contacts   (I also have a back up pair of contacts as well).

And now that the vacation is coming to a close,  here I am on the eve of another out-of-town adventure to Arizona,  then to The Queen Mary in Long Beach,  then a week at Caesar's Palace.   A very busy week and a half to come!
