Dec '03: Capt Spud finally releases his debut CD "Horror

Muzak" featuring various demented ditties recorded from 1986 to
1998,
plus a new one from 2003. Recording begins for the 2nd CD... 29th Apr '04: The new songs are ready, but many were done by the light of the full moon and this seems to have un-hinged the Captain even more than usual... Now there's all the re-mixing, mastering, art-work and production to do!!! 21st Jun '04: The 2nd CD "It's Medication Time" is released - thanks to Ms. KakL for the title! The first 30 copies have sponge-painted labels, printed with a potato stamp! 12th Sep '04: The Capt starts writing and recording songs with Connie the Computer. She's a fan of "Beverly Hills Cop" and Commodore 64 game music, so she prefers to use a Lo-Fi mono synth chip to get those crunchy old-style sounds. 31st Oct '04: Recording for the 3rd CD gets seriously underway, beginning with Capt Spud's tribute song "Raw Sex Covered Me In Vomit". 1st Jan '05: New Years Day finds the Captain picking up his new HR-16 drum machine from Cashie's and taking it to the goat farm where Secondary Vapour Belt have their sound lab in a converted milking shed. They record "Lament Of The Moon-Calf" and plan to do more in July... 7th Feb '05: Arrangements are made for a rare one-off recording with Tick-Tock Speedy at a secret location. They decided to do the Ramones song "Sedated", after seeing a doco about it on TV. Their vocalist Sigy Sog was in one of his moods and didn't want to sing but allowed a sample of his voice to be used for the lead keyboard. 15th Mar '05: The Capt meets Werner Fang, lurking among the old synths in a music shop. They discover a shared interest in inflicting musickal harm upon people, so the Capt is invited back to Werner's underground bunker studio and they record some disturbing noise called "The Only Good Thing About Divorce". 1st May '05: Fang and Spud celebrate MayDay by recording the annoying, yet hypnotic "Alert!" - it's even hard for the Capt to listen to!!! 9th - 10th Jul '05: A week-end recording session with Secondary Vapour Belt produces two more songs before the beginning of goat breeding season. Once that starts, the Doctors will be busy with animal husbandry for a while... 31st Oct '05: The Raw Sex Experience is formed, so the Raw One can perform his guitar rock songs live at the Lizard Lounge on the 5th of Nov. The group consists of Raw Sex on vocal & guitar, Capt Spud on keyboard & vocal, Oi Oi Ormsby on bass and G.G. Alan Bindig on drums. 10th Nov '05: Capt Spud and Raw Sex form Raw Spud to record a cover of the LeighStarDust song "Little Man" for the Chastity Records tribute CD. The Raw One has also recorded several songs with drums, bass, guitar & vocals on his 4-track and leaves the Master tapes with Capt Spud, so he can add keyboards and/or vocals. This process begins the very next day with "Disciples Of The Fishlord" being recorded and mixed - Praise the Gilled God! 14th Dec '05: The last song for the Capt's 3rd CD is recorded and mixed with Werner, "Peppermint Flavoured Heroin" is entirely made up of samples from the 1960's film "Charade". 21st Feb '06: The CD "Captain Spud & friends..." finally sees the light of day and is warmly received by the few sick freaks who like this sort of thing... 6th Mar '06: The final 2 Raw Spud songs are recorded for their debut CD, a song of praise called "The Fishlord's Vent" and a tribute to the "Tongue Of Fire" bike club. 14th May '06: Recording begins for the Captain's 4th CD with another strange noise collaboration by Fang & Spud, called "Rauh Geschlecht". 3rd Jun '06: The self-titled Raw Spud debut CD is released by Chastity & E.C. 24th Jun '06: Raw Sex has been recording songs on an 8-track and drops it off for the Capt to start adding his demented keyboard bits, beginning with the moody "Tomorrow's Vomit". 22nd Jul '06: Meanwhile, the Capt is still going through the Raw One's 4-track tapes and records three new Raw Spud songs in one day, including a tribute to the infamous Mr. Magick. This is the start of their next CD... 1st Sep '06: After recording 7 Raw Spud songs on the 4-track, they decide to release them as an "EP" and concentrate on finishing enough songs on the 8-track to release an "album length" CD. This is mainly because the 8-track stuff sounds a bit different to the 4-track recordings. 31st Oct '06: A top-secret recording session with a member of Tick-Tock Speedy to commemorate their 21st Birthday - it will be on the next Capt Spud CD... 14th Nov '06: The Raw Spud EP "It's Not Music, It's A Disease!" is released by Chastity & EC, featuring tribute songs to Toxic Shock and Lubricated Goat. |
