Girls Kwik Cricket Tournament at Chesham CC

 victorious Our Ladys team

Our  Lady’s Primary School, Chesham Bois, won the kwik cricket tournament for girls staged at Chesham Cricket Club, with Chartridge Combined School taking runners up spot.

The event was contested by sides from 7 schools after being coached by Rob Maier, Chesham CC’s Director of cricket, and Tina Turner, the manager of Bucks U13 girls.

Mr Maier said the plan was to get more Bucks youngsters involved in cricket and to keep them playing. “We coached them for 3-4 weeks to equip them with the basic skills, and for most of them it was their introduction to cricket,” he said.

They really warmed to it - the effort and enjoyment from alll the teams was fantastic.”

Other schools taking part were Elangeni, Chenies, Brushwood, Chartridge, Chesham Bois and Waterside.

The tournament was sponsored by SportsMatch.

With thanks to Bucks Examiner.
