NEWS: July 03

Cricket for girls in Bucks is really taking off as so many teams have  made the headlines this week end….. it must be the busiest cricketting week end for our girls so far. ………..

On Saturday Crispin Andrews’, Aylesbury U13 played in the Lady Taverner's Competition  National Club U13 Finals at Loughborough University, and were runners up, the difference between the top 2 teams at the finish was just 2 runs!

Gerrards Cross U15 team, with Eileen Powell were playing in the Lady Taverners National Plate competition at the same venue & were  equal second ! These were both National competitions and Bucks can be proud that they had teams featuring in the finals of both age groups.

On the same day two thousand youngsters were playing all kinds of sport at the Thames Valley Youth Games at Eton College and Slough. In the cricket tournament Chiltern  & Aylesbury Vale entered 2 teams each   & Gerrards Cross with S Bucks entered one as did Wycombe.

Congrats to Chiltern, their A team were second to Windsor in the final.

Then on Sunday, after the heady delights of  Loughborough & TVYG it was another day of yet more  scorching sunshine & excitement when Bucks U13 played against Hampshire …….

And  we weren't runners up or second,  we were FIRST!!!!!!!!Bucks made 140-9 from their 30overs and then, wearily held Hants to 53-7 from their 30 overs, Alex Rogers chipping in with 3wkts for 4 runs.
