The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Chairman Thomas Briggs.2 Approval of Minutes. October 23, 2000, Regular MeetingMotion by Sylvan Fisher second by Thomas Briggs to approve the minutes, correcting theadjournment time. Motion approved unanimously.Brian Brant discussed the agreement with Akron Borough Police Department. Motion by Dick Horstsecond by Thomas Briggs to sign the agreement with Akron Borough. Motion approved unanimously.3 Public Comment/Guestsa Diane Mummert from Conestoga Valley School District had no comment at this time.Lori Noyes presented her view of the student safety along South State Street. She asked the board toreverse their decision about paying for half of the flashing light. Diane Mummert stated that theschool feels that it is a hazardous area. The board questioned why the children are not taken on thebus or walk down East Main Street to South Church Street to get to school. The board directed Pat tocontact Kirn Seldomridge about these issues.5 Old Businessa Flashing warning device permit for the Brownstown School. PennDot is requesting thatwe send them a letter requesting a change of location for one of the signals. Motionby Sylvan Fisher second by Dick Horst to prepare a letter to Penn Dot to request ameeting about the locations of the flashing warning devices. Motion approvedunanimously.Barry Smith asked about the D&E lights. They were turned down but they still shine on the housesalong Zook's Mill Road. The board will have Barry Wagner discuss this will Doug Snell.Dave Noyes asked about the traffic study for the intersection of 272 and 772. The board reportedthat the study is to begin this week with machine data and proceed to the collection of manualdata between Thanksgiving and Christmas. A report should be prepared by February 2001. The studythen goes to Penn Dot and the township to apply for grants.6 New businessb Consideration of an application for exemption from the requirement to use trashcollector services by Norman Shirk 881 Crooked Lane. Mr. Shirk states that his trashwill either be burned or recycled. Motion by Sylvan Fisher second by Dick Horst toallow Norman Shirk the trash exemption. Motion approved unanimously.
