Fort Bunker Hill - Corner of Perry & 13th

This is a nice big green space in the middle of Brookland. The site of one of the civil war-era defenses for the city. This is a full block large and hilly. Sort of an odd piece of land, but when I want to get away real quick, this is a good place.

Franciscan Monastery - Corner of Quincy & 14th

There are some beautiful gardens here. Sure, this is a tourise destination for some visitors to the city, but its surprisingly sparsely crowded most of the time. The big show is in the spring with all the bulb flowers and blooming trees, but its really a great get away at any time.

Howard Divinity School (back of the property - Corner of Taylor & 14th

You have to walk to the back of the building. There you will find a lovely few acres of what I can only describe as grassland. Its rarely mowed and it makes for a lovely place to walk your dog.
