Take a minute to send an email using the button above. Thank Cool Pop 106.7 for picking up the best morning show in central PA. Remind both Cool Pop and Cumulus that your radio listening has followed Ed and Amy to the new station. Not only are we still boycotting WTPA but all Cumulus stations as well. Included amongst their stations is Wink 104. Let Cumulus management know that you'll be listening to Cool Pop 106.7 and NOT WINK 104. Cumulus wasn't interested in the Coffey & Jammer listeners these last 3 months and we're not interested in ANYTHING they have to offer now or ever. Take a minute to send that email reminding Ron G and the Dickey brothers that they made a big mistake cancelling the show, and sincerely thanking them for releasing Amy from any non-compete she may have been under so our old morning team could be back together again. Ron G actually did one good thing allowing her release and I think we should specifically thank both he and the corporate boys for that. After all Amy was an integral part of the show and could have found work anywhere in this business. Cumulus seems to forget that Ed and Amy are both talented enough to work in markets a lot bigger than Harrisburg, and they should have been thankful to have such a morning team on their station. The message that our listening habits follow our loyalties and we are now all Cool Pop 106.7 listeners is important to impress upon the corporate boys. If you absolutely have to switch formats after 10:00AM consider a Citadel station that plays rock. 105.7 WQXA "The X".
If you missed the Patriot-News article on their return you can check it out here.
The boycott itself continues on principle. Cumulus management didn't just pull the plug on Coffey and Jammer. They would have been further ahead to have said nothing. When they sent out their email asking us to take a 60 day test and full of untruths they closed the door for good. Hope they enjoy their ride to the bottom.
The "60 Day Test" that Ron Giovanniello asked all of us to take in his canned email from early July is up next week. Thursday September 2nd to be exact. I'm urging you now to send another email to these guys and remind them of their 60 days being almost up, and just how you feel their test went. Join me in sending an email to all the people I've included on the link above. Simply click on the "Email Cumulus/WTPA about 60 Day Test" link above and your email will open with all their addresses included ready to go. Please include the entire list, not just a select few names. Every name on this list has been added to it for a very specific reason. Be they a General Manager, Program Director, CEO, Regional VP, the jocks, General Counsel, or any of the other names on that list. I've also added my own email to the list, please copy me on all your emails so I can keep one central directory of all of them. Just a way to know for sure how many they got, and to make sure they're all accounted for in that public file. Please take a few minutes to write to these guys and keep reminding them of the mistake they made in June when they pulled the plug on Coffey & Jammer, and replaced them with the current disgrace on Monday July 5, 2004. The "Former Listener's Letters to Management" link above is also new. I've posted some of your letters to Cumulus regarding their 60 Day Test. This is just a small number of them, it is by no means all the letters I've received. I'll get more on there as time permits. I've put together a flyer that everybody can print out and put in their grocery stores, offices, whereever you go and can hang one of these up. Download the word file flyer by clicking here or on the "Flyers" button above.
Update: Monday August 30, 2004. I have begun seeing these flyers in various stores around the midstate. Thank you to everyone that has printed them out and placed them out there for us. If you haven't yet done this, please take a few seconds to print a couple out now and take them with you on your next shopping trip. Many stores out there have a "Community Info Center" board of some sort for just this purpose.
Check out, and vote on, the online poll set up by supporter tux8098 on July 25, 2004... one more opportunity to let your voice be heard by Cumulus / WTPA...
The Advertisers page is now up... please take the time to write to them if you haven't already... the petition is up to 893 signatures... let's get it over 900 everybody... 100 at a time... we'll get to 1000 and keep right on going... the front page has been viewed 6681 times since Wednesday July 7... don't believe for a second this is a lost cause and give up... they'd love nothing more than for you to believe that... time to stoke the fire a little hotter and keep driving our point home...
SHIRTS
The shirt I had made up this Saturday was a big hit at the KISS show. I lost count of how many people asked where I got it or how they could get one. Well the shirt I was wearing was a customized TPA giveaway shirt, thanks a lot guys, so you can't get one just like it. I do however have an even better shirt now available, click on the shirt button above to go to the store. If you were at the show quite possibly you already saw the shirt I wore there, but either way you can click here to see a pic of it.
Check out the new "Letters to The Editor" button above. Listed are many of the area newspapers. Just another resource for the teeming masses to use in this fight to get Coffey & the Jammer back on the air.
The Coffey & Jammer show was recently cancelled by Cumulus Media General Manager Ron Giovanniello.
Management would have you believe this decision was based on ratings, not money or any other issues. What they won't do is produce those ratings for us to see. How then do they support their claim when Coffey and the Jammer received the "Simply The Best" award for top morning show from Harrisburg Magazine? These awards are based on reader votes. The readers of Harrisburg Magazine that voted, and the listeners to Coffey and the Jammer, are the same people. How do they have poor ratings at the same time those very listeners vote them the BEST?
We want Ed, Jeff, and Amy back. We want the music back. We want the contests back. The special guests. The sometimes corny bits. It wasn't just a couple voices on the air. It wasn't just the music, or any single aspect of the show. It was the entire package. It took every broadcast over the last 16 years, every cohost, every intern, every caller, to mold and shape the show into what it was. It evolved through all those incarnations until it became more than a radio show. It took on a life of its own, and in the process became a part of our lives. They became friends to many, including those who never met them except on the radio every morning.
In one unconscionable and indefensible act that piece of us was taken away.
To replace it they offer us some nationally syndicated garbage called Bob & Tom. The music is gone. The talk format isn't funny. The fake laughter is insulting and pathetic. We've been asked to try them out for 60 days, but 60 minutes of their sorry act is about 55 minutes too long.
Recently TPA ran a promo saying "we're still playing rock and roll 23 years later because you're still listening". It's time to remind them of their own words. For 4 hours in the mornings they're not playing music anymore, and we're no longer listening. For any station to not change formats in 23 years is quite a statement to listener loyalty, to throw it all away in one senseless moment is ridiculous. Coffey & Jammer were an integral part of how it stayed a rock station for this long.
Every successful show comes to an end eventually, but there is right way and a wrong way to end it. When the time comes to pull the plug on something that ran this long, you do it in a mutually acceptable and dignified way. You do a farewell. You DO NOT simply come in and fire people with no word to the listeners, no chance for the guys that made your station what it is to say goodbye to their listeners, and then replace them with unwanted and dissimilar garbage. WTPA wouldn't be what it is today without Ed & Jeff, and this is the respect you show them for all they've done.
We will boycott WTPA and all her advertisers until Ed & Jeff are back on the air Monday thru Friday mornings. As long as they're gone, so are your once loyal listeners. When they come back so will we.
We can listen to other stations longer than you can survive with decreased advertising revenue and substantially less listeners.
Included in the link buttons at the top of this page you will see one listed as Email CEO & VP. I'll give you a little more background on just who these guys are before you write to them. Let these guys know what you think of the decision to take Coffey & Jammer off the air here in central PA. Remember the old saying "the squeaky wheel gets greased". It's time to squeak a little folks. These guys are businessmen, their decisions are based on their bottom line. Let's show them our boycott can hurt them in the one place they care about, their financial well-being.

If you have anything you think will make this site better, or our cause easier to win, don't hesitate to email me about it.
I will do the best I can to keep up with all the emails. Please remember that this website was created by, and is kept updated by, one disgusted listener whose goal is to get Ed & Jeff back on the air. This is purely voluntary, and I do have a life that requires some time too, but I'll do everything time permits since I did after all take it upon myself to do this.
No single person out here can make this a reality, certainly not I. This site, and the petition, give all the former loyal listeners out there the information we need to make this happen. It is now up to the teeming masses to fight back, and get our boys back on the air.
I was told by GM Ron that I am belligerent. Merriam Webster's definition is inclined to or exhibiting assertiveness, or combativeness. I'll take that as a compliment, thank you Ron. If we're going to get them back on the air we all need to be assertive, maybe a little bit combative even.
Let's remember a few simple ground rules. Combative means to fight the good fight, not a call for anything physical. Send this to everybody you know, but don't spam anybody with our plea. If everybody out there sends this to everybody they know that listened, each generation will grow exponentially. We'll get it out to the teeming masses without spamming them and pissing them off.
