About Brian

Originally trained in film, I found graphic arts by accident and discovered a love of the field previously unknown and a career I never knew I always wanted. I enjoy the many aspects that make up graphic design, relishing in the confluence of art and science, creativity and precision that embody graphic design. I hold high the axiom that at their core, graphic designers are problem solvers and keep this in mind daily in my work. Currently I work in proposal management, using graphic design to communicate to potential clients the benefits of our products and solutions. This mix of sales and marketing provides unique challenges and opportunities for creative design solutions.

I find inspiration and fascination in older artistic movements. I find the movements of Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Constructivism captivating, and works from these movements provide endless allure. I am also enamored at visual identity systems, and the corporate wave of establishing visual identities that began in the 1950's and design highs in the 1960's and 1970's.

Home base is Pittsburgh Pa, a beautiful and underrated city full of historic beauty, a blend of urban and nature and a wonderful variety of adventures to be had. I regularly embark on such ventures with my beautiful wife and our three dogs, whom we spoil with no shame.

I am a runner for fitness, as well as sweet finisher medals. I run the Christmas Story 5K every year, right after decorating the house Griswold style. I like spending time playing Hank Hill in terms of home maintenance and lawn care. I am an unabashed Star Wars nerd. When I find time I am a voracious reader and will play anyone a spirited game of Trivial Pursuit. Nothing like learning and entertainment melded together!
