Haileyesus' Memories… I have so many memories, I don't know which ones to tell and which ones to hold back on… * The sheep story is the one on top of my list. It is THE GREATEST STORY of all times!!! Tewanyan: Shewangezaw (Shumiye), Yared (Jack), Yosafat (Bocha), Medhen (Tekusu). You guys made the biggest story in Kute history. This is a story that will never die. After 17 years, people still talk about it as if it happened yesterday. * I remember the time Shumiye stole his Dad's ONLY car (Peugeot 404). Drove the stolen car to school. Parked the car next to the school Director's car… and went to class (a mind is a terrible thing to waste). * Andargachew used to steal his mom's car wearing his mom's scarf so that his siblings think it was their mom and they would not tell on him when she comes home. * Love story … How about the time more than TEN guys went after ONE pretty girl, including four guys from one household. The winner was Gerum Bekele with the help of his mom's new green Toyota Corolla DX. True love goes to Yonas Ambaye (the person who truly loved her). You Go Girl !!! You did it Enquit (Kuku). (Boy, that girl was PRETTYYYYYYY). * First day at Kute…Shumiye told everyone in the neighborhood that Yosafat and I had a black belt in Karate. The first day I went to Kuteba to exchange videocassette, I was wondering why everyone watched me like I was some kind of famous person. Everyone deserves 15 minutes of fame in his/her lifetime… those were my 15 minutes :-) |
