Where's Warren Wright!?
This is my good friend Warren Wright. He is from a wide spot in the road named Little River. I used to work with him at Kasa Industrial Controls. Like me, he is single, went to K-State, is an electrical engineer, and is really into trucks and motorcycles. He also spent time in the Navy, has been to Nepal, has a oversexed rat/dog with three legs, and enjoys making life interesting. During work and after, we would go on quite a few adventures. We have been to the bottom of lakes in Canada, tops of mountains in Colorado, and New York City on New Year's Eve.
He quit out at Kasa before I did and announced to everyone he was walking to Tierra del Fuego, the tip of South America and back! He figured it would take him about 3 years or so. After about a month he had me visit him in Oklahoma to bring him some new shoes. He walked all the way to Mexico like this and got hassled quite a bit by the "man" and assorted roadside idiots. He came home to regroup after a few months with a brand new plan. He was going to build a purpose made Toyota truck for just such a journey and head out again. Well, that was a few months ago and he has blasted thru Texas, seen some good, bad, and ugly things in Mexico, and Guatemala. There's no stopping that boy!
Apparently Latin America has no toilet paper, clean water, working electricity, phones, or burnable gasoline for the impoverished trekker, but is covered with internet access, so WW sends me some stuff on his travels and travails on a regular basis (or is that when the federales are not looking.) I have included his narratives from the road. Some of them are hilarious. Some are sobering. WARNING, DO NOT READ THESE IF YOU HAVE A HEART CONDITION, VEGETARIANISM, DON'T BELIEVE IN TIRE ENVY, OR ARE EASILY OFFENDED IN ANY WAY!
