My First Impression
My first impression of Gandhi was a mistake. He was a short and skinny man...not the right physical appearance to defeat one of the most powerful countries in the whole world (Britain), so I assumed that he would not be able to liberate India from britsh rule, but he did. Admirably, this man fought for not only his rights, but for all people in India, to win the country its independence.
When I say that he fought, I do not mean that he went to physical war. Gandhi taught nonviolent beliefs to the whole of India, so they did not lay a finger on the British. Gandhi believed that through their own pain, the British Empire would realize the madness of their tyranny on India and would quit, which eventually happened.
Background Information
I am a Middle school student learning about Mahatma Gandhi and creating this site simultaneously. This website was created for a school project on Gandhi. I received help from a number of people to create this website, so I would like to thank them, especially along with Buchanan Moncure for helping me so much! Thanks a lot!
