This
article is related to the free screening of Witchblade at the WizardWorld
2000 comic convention in Chicago.
Im
just quoting the important parts here:
"...
And finally we went to a nearby theatre for a screening of the pilot movie
of the Witchblade series premiering on TNT on August 27. Now, they told
us ahead of time that there would only be seating for 200 at this screening.
By the time we got there, a line of about 600 was winding its way through
the little mall where the theatre was found. So Kenn and Joe got dutifully
in line, while I went up to the front to look for somebody in charge. Things
were a little disorganized, so I hung around and talked for a while with
a couple of guys who were first in line, until I saw someone who looked
like he was running things. They were about to let the people in. I flashed
my press badge and asked if there was reserved press access. He told me,
"Press goes in first." I ran to get Joe and Kenn, and we got the heck inside.
Naturally, they looked at me with unadulterated admiration. For a second
or so, anyway. At least, I think it was unadulterated... there may have
been something else in there, but I'm frankly too optimistic to care.
Afterward,
star Yancy Butler and creator Mark Silvestri hung around with a few other
cast members while drooling fanboys crowded around. (Ms. Butler, you see,
is rather attractive, and we'd just spent the last couple of hours watching
her look attractive and doing a lot of kick-boxing on the big screen; hence
the drool.) We got some names and numbers, and we headed on our way."
