Eric Etebari, who plays Ian Nottingham in TNT's upcoming Witchblade movie, told The Continuum that he hopes the two-hour film results in a weekly Witchblade series.

"I'm excited. I think it has a lot of possibilities," Etebari said. "A show like that could really take off because of the things that we were surrounded with. It's just endless. They're aren't any boundaries.

"It would definitely be a dangerous series because of the possibilities. I hope they want to see more. We're just tapping into the potential. If given the opportunity, we'll take television by storm."

Etebari used words like "mysterious," "unpredictable," "lurking" and "very powerful" to describe the TV version of Nottingham.

"I think the comic book version seems to be a little more physical," Etebari said. "I'm a little more restrained. Things are easy, more effortless for myself than the Nottingham (comics) character. The Nottingham character will cut through a car. I feel I can just stop the car. My whole goal was to do less than the comic book guy, to be more powerful, to outdo the comic book, where they had no boundaries. My idea was to do less, be powerful by less is more."

Etebari said he hopes to expand on the character if Witchblade goes to a series.

"I just think I could outdo everybody on television with this guy, if I'm given the opportunity," he said. "Do some things that haven't been done. A 30-year-old, enigmatic henchman, who's a virgin! That leaves tons of possibilities. There's still room for seduction. He's got leading-man quality. Classic, 30's, 40's style in a modern-day comic book. I think it's a good combination."

Etebari said he read a few issues of Witchblade prior to the movie.

"I got a good grasp on Nottingham," Etebari said. "I wanted to use him to be my role model, the posture, certain positions with the wide base."

Etebari said Yancy Butler is "perfect" as Sara Pezzini.

"I can't wait to conflict with her, more confrontation," he said. "But in reality, I had a character that can kick ass on all the other shows. I can develop a guy who is a man physically, but mentally he's like a child. So it leaves me so much room to grow as a character."
