Witchblade
the TV movie is set to roll with a super-hottie cast as the lead.
Why,
oh why, are they making so many films out of comic books? Aside from Blade
and Batman, most comic flicks have flamed. I dug the Superman series, but
that was nearly twenty years ago. Keep your eyes peeled for my editorial
feature dissecting the issue in the coming week. Now, as for Witchblade...
I love
the comic series and I think that out of most comics in film development,
this is one that could translate pretty well to the screen. Hopefully they'll
get someone other than the X-Men costumers to design the skimpy armor that
Sara wears. According to Comics Continuum shooting is slated to begin at
the end of the month, with the rumored recent signing of Yancy Butler as
the lead hottie-badass. Yancy isn't a big name but that could all change.
I think they were better off getting an attractive semi-unknown, allowing
the audience to more readily accept the actress as Sara than if she were
an everyday face. She's good looking and she's a decent actress, what more
could you ask for?
