Yancy Butler looks better in combat boots than most women do in pearls.  She wears both in South Beach (NBC, Tuesdays, 9 PM), making her TV's hippest crime fighter since Sonny Crockett.  Think Miami Vice for the 90s.  The setting is Miami's hot retro-deco district.  Butler is a small time con woman who accidentally finds herself on the right side of the law.  She's tough, beautiful, and single, "with a lot of ex-boyfriends", says the actress, whose last TV series was as an android cop in Mann & Machine.  She's more human this time, but still looks eerily perfect - making her the ideal love interest for Jean-Claude Van Damme in his August action flick, Hard Target.
