Butler is to kill for, her luminous eyes, sensuous lips and throaty voice
inspires her overly protective male co-stars to kick a lot of ass in her
defense. In 1993's Hard Target, her feature debut, Jean Claude Van Damme
knocked off "25 plus" by Butler's estimate. "But there were a lot of explosions,
and that took care of 5 to 10 people." Playing a professional sky diver
opposite Wesley Snipes in the current Drop Zone, she gets to do more than
the occasional smashing of a vase over the bad guy's head. "It's kind of
like riding in a convertible at 190 miles an hour," Butler, 24, says of
jumping out of a plane. "My hair was a mess! That's why I cut it a bit
for the film." So what's the secret to looking drop-dead sexy at 3,000
feet? Cold-water rinses and daily workouts, sometimes starting at 4 a.m.
when she's shooting a film with a personal trainer. "I'd like to be able
to do more squats, a.k.a. my butt," Butler says with a laugh. "Everybody
has one little pet peeve - at least mine is behind me."
