Yancy Butler was born in show business (her mother is an actress there, her
father is the drummer of the band the The Lovin' Spoonful), but in the
beginning she had chosen a road that very rarely leads to becoming a star of
the cinema, she preferred in fact, first of all, to go to school. 
She would have liked to become a model in order to pay her student loans, but her meter
and 170cm was not tall enough and she was referred to a casting agent, friend
of the mother and suddenly got a part in a television program. 
Her first film was Hard Target, in 1992, with Jean-Claude Van Damme, a performance 
that has demonstrated her talent for action roles. After Drop Zone, not very successful
in the USA, she shot Let It Be Me with Campbell Scott and Jennifer Beals. 
Here she interprets the part of a dance teacher, a role more feminine than the
previous ones and on its way to be released. "Not me trick a lot and, as I
dislike to shop, most of my wardrobe are those costumes of the characters of
